Abstract. This work is funded on the hypothesis that the project for the Centro Cultural Gabriel García Márquez is an instrument of orientation that constructs a place, not as a non-visited one, but as an anthropological space; one that links to memory and allows the passing of atmospheric time and the knowledge of the form of the city. To reach its objective, the project sets the control of two features that determine the amorphous character of nature before it is bounded: space and time. For the control of the first feature, the project fixes the place, in other words, it provided it with rules, revealing its structural elements. For the control of the second feature, the project makes time memorable through the coexistence of evoked architectures, which have exited Salmona and whose resonance are wished to show in the building. Once the control of these features has been achieved, an empty spaced of programmatic activities used for the contemplation of the ordered place, which also establishes paradigmatic relationships with architectures from history that seek the excitement of the habitant, questioning him in every step to make him aware of his position. The demonstration of this hypothesis uses the analogical thinking as a means of abstracting the formal construction of the project, since the allowing of the knowledge of an object to affirm on another through a logical proportion (a/b=c/d), establishes relationships between the process of composition that has formalize the building and objects that guide such as the sextant and the map. The sextant becomes reading key that the analysis gives of the project, and the map in reading key that the project gives of the place. Finally, the relationship between these two elements allows the finding of the treasure that the composition of the project hides, reveal the place where it is embedded, tightening the ties between the habitant and the territory, guiding in space and time, making him part of a collective culture in which architecture is nothing else than a scene.
