This research was carried out with the purpose of elucidating, from the field of cultural studies, what is the relationship between the development of digital technologies as new sources of information and the transformations in teaching and learning experiences, through a work of ethnographic cut with a group of students and professors from a private university in Bogotá (Colombia) and a case study of the Julioprofe YouTube channel. The starting point is the problematization of the interactions between teachers and students in the light of the cultural transformations that imply the development of other sources of information and circulation of knowledge that have questioned the hegemonic role of the University as a central place of production and knowledge transmission. The categories of analysis that were worked on revolved around six factors: The role of teachers and students, pedagogical authority, learning experiences, the circulation of knowledge through digital technologies and the specific transformations that these technologies have caused. Through the analysis of the narratives collected under the methodology of focus groups (with students) and semi-structured interviews (with teachers), the following emerged as the main identified transformations: the change in the role of students (protagonists) and teachers (mediators), the reconfiguration of the teaching authority as an attribute in constant re-significance, the rethinking of the University as a setting par excellence for learning, the need to overcome technological materialism, and the overvaluation of technologies in response to contemporary educational challenges.
