(Texto tomado de la fuente) With the objective of evaluating the influence of the technological level on the productivity
and competitiveness of beekeepers in the department of Cundinamarca, this research
reviews the concepts of technology, productivity, and business competitiveness. Then, the
situation of beekeeping in the international and national context in the honey and pollen
agribusiness is presented and supported with an analysis of trends in research and
technological development regarding technologies focused on productivity improvement.
Sections of the case study methodology were adapted, and a survey was conducted with
16 members of the Association of Environmental Beekeepers, located in Cundinamarca.
The data obtained were processed through a principal component analysis to obtain the
most representative variables and assign a technological level to the beekeepers.
Subsequently, the technological level and the indicators of productivity and business
competitiveness of the beekeepers were contrasted.
Among the results, it is worth mentioning that the qualitative analysis found a positive
influence between technological level and productivity and competitiveness, although the
quantitative analysis did not detect a strong relationship between these variables.
From this research it is concluded that the technological level was rated between
insufficient and acceptable in the evaluated beekeepers. It was found that the aspects to
be improved are in soft technologies. Technological level indicators were also established
for the beekeepers of the association studied, and based on this, alternatives were
proposed for improving productivity and competitiveness based on the technological level.
