(Texto tomado de la fuente) Lonchaeidae family (Loew, 1861) is a group of insects that is presumed to have a wide distribution in Colombia; However, there are few records on the presence of species to date, which in part may be related to the scarcity of experts in the taxonomy of the group and the lack of knowledge of their species. They are normally associated with the Passifloraceae family of plants because they are considered potential pests with high economic impact on commercial crops (for example passion fruit, granadilla and gulupa). To contribute to the knowledge of this group in Antioquia and the country, this study was carried out in order to recognize and identify taxonomically the genera and species collected in productive systems of passiflora in the department of Antioquia and to evaluate the morphology-molecular correlation for the species of the genus Lonchaea found. From 1592 specimens from the monitoring of the national fruit fly system of the Instituto Colombiano Agropecuario ICA, reviewed and included in 100 samples from 42 sampling points, 15 species of three genera were identified as follows: 6 from Dasiops Rondani, 2 from Neosilba McAlpine, 7 from Lonchaea Fallèn in addition to 4 morphospecies of the latter genus. Lonchaea cristula, and Dasiops gracilis were the most common species in the present study with 35% and 36% respectively of the total of the individuals reviewed. New regional distribution records are provided for the 15 species and a new Lonchaea chalybea record for the country. The first DNA barcode sequences of the genus Lonchaea for the tropics are also made available and the species identity is assigned for the females based on this sequence obtained from males previously identified by morphology with the support of a specialist. The use of the mitochondrial gene segment coxI (Cytochrome Oxidase 1) known as DNA barcode is proposed as a useful method for the separation of OTUS Operative Taxonomic Units and in particular in correspondence with the species found here. This allows the rapid assignment of individuals of the genus Lonchaea, be they male, female, immature or fragments of any biological state found in the field, to a species based on the haplotypes of this gene.
