//Abstract: The objective of the work was to produce tomato lines with determined growth, where the backcrossing method was used as a tool to improve nine experimental lines of growth determined from a backcrossing three (RC3), which were used as donors, and the Unapal-Maravilla as a recurrent father, who has good agronomic characteristics, but of indeterminate growth. In the backcrossing generation four, homogeneity was obtained with respect to the final height of the plant where the L10, L11 and L12 did not exceed 1.40 m in height thanks to the expression of the Self Pruning gene in homozygous recessive state. An average yield of 4.14 3.27 and 3.37 kg / plant respectively was achieved, compared to the recurrent parent Unapal wonder with 1.87m and a yield of 3kg / plant. The three lines selected were earlier than the recurrent father.
