Abstract: The streets are architectures! They are spatial artifacts product of a prolonged conflict between the public and the private, the collective and the subject, the city and the architecture. The street is an immanent interstice to the urban form that is torn between harbor and its vocation of circulation. This dichotomy was the one lived by La Caracas - as it is known colloquially - a Bogota street of metropolitan scale, which is a sum of very heterogeneous wills: some of quality and conscience, and others, petty attitudes or casual facts that face it indistinctly, regardless of its historical, geographical, infrastructural, aesthetic, iconographic, semiotic or political dimensions. This thesis assumes a metaphor for the city as a theatrical scenario. To that extent, it proposes to establish a valid equivalence between the street and the stage. In both, spectators, set designers and actors participate, who perceive, construct, and imagine the plays to which their historical development submits them. The structure of the research —which arose without having a prefigured method of proven efficacy— brings together three different readings of the same object. A theoretical, timeless, that evaluates the possibility and relevance of theater concepts in the field of the city and architecture. Another periodized reading, corresponding to the elaboration of urban history of a limited piece of city, and, one last, in time of the vital experience, of a creative, critical and even speculative character. Despite being an ambitious approach, it corresponds to a multidisciplinary intention, and it is from this perspective that is conceived and with which we hope the reader approaches.
