In the municipality of Arauca, there is a shortage of drinking water due to the high level of contamination that the body of water presents where the collection for the aqueduct system is carried out, in addition to the failures and inefficiencies that the system presents due to its age; This is why it is necessary to look for alternatives that allow the optimization of drinking water from said system and reduce the environmental impact generated by the excessive uptake of water in the river, in times of drought.
The reuse of rainwater and the extraction of groundwater can be alternatives that help mitigate the environmental impact generated by the Construction field in the department of Arauca, in addition, implementing these collection systems is simple, since they do not have large variations between them, the majority basically consist of three components: collection, conduction and storage (Abdulla and Al-Shareef, 2006); and this would allow reducing the use of drinking water in the manufacture of concrete in the private public sector, as well as reducing the chemical processing that is given to drinking water.
In this work the comparative analysis of the compressive behavior that concrete presents when it is manufactured with three different types of water is carried out: drinking water, underground water and rainwater; in order to identify how technically feasible it is to manufacture concrete with water other than drinking water, looking for an alternative that allows caring for the environment, complying with the Colombian NSR-10 standard (Earthquake Resistant Standard) whose title C specifically refers to “Structural Concrete ”. Additionally, compliance with the Colombian technical standards NTC 3459 (Concrete. Water for the preparation of Concrete), NTC 5551 (Concrete. Durability of concrete structures) and NTC 673 (Concrete. Compression resistance test of specimens) will be evaluated. cylindrical concrete).
