Background The immunomodulatory capacity of neuraltherapeutic medicine (NTM) has been proposed through stimuli to the nervous system, which influences the self-regulatory and plastic capacity of the nervous system, especially by the autonomic balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system; several studies report the usefulness of NTM in inflammatory pathologies. Methods Case report through retrospective review of the medical records of an 82-year-old male patient with a diagnosis of acute COVID who received a therapeutic intervention of MNT at the beginning of hospitalization and presented satisfactory clinical evolution, follow-up for 18 months without post-COVID sequelae. Results A patient diagnosed with acute COVID, pneumonia, and mild ARDS, with markers of severity given by the history of COPD, advanced age, the elevation of LDH, ferritin, and CRP; on the 3rd day of hospitalization presents an episode of pulmonary thromboembolism; presented significant clinical improvement, in-hospital management for 9 days, in out-of-hospital control did not present post COVID sequelae. Conclusions NTM could be useful in the management of acute inflammatory diseases, including viral diseases such as COVID, in addition to allopathic medicine can improve clinical evolution and long-term sequelae. More studies are needed to validate this information.
