Resumen
The Doctoral Thesis entitled “Study of disorders of the pre-reflexive self and of the narratives
of first admitted patients with schizophrenia” is a qualitative study of schizophrenia,
particularly phenomenological and hermeneutic, with patients during their first psychiatric
hospitalisation. The results of the study are presented in three papers in which the following
themes are considered:
(1) Psychotherapeutic implications of self-disorders in schizophrenia. Firstly, the paper
provides distinctions regarding conceptual definitions of disembodiment and hyperreflexivity,
to facilitate their differentiation from both other psychopathological configurations and normal
conditions. Secondly, it describes disturbances of the self that arise in the consensual
processes of establishing intersubjectivity and which manifest themselves in narratives.
Thirdly, it presents the principles of possible psychotherapeutic interventions for persons with
schizophrenia.
