Resumen
Introduction: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) in the setting of severe failure, requires of complex treatments with replacement therapies (dialysis or renal transplantation). The assessment of the therapies efficacy is made by the monthly calculation of the monocompartimental Kt/V, where K is the urea clearance, corresponds to the time of hemodialysis session and V the urea distribution volume of the patient. The minimal Kt/V actually recommended is 1.2 that achieves an optimal dialysis. Many methods exist to measure the Kt/V, one of them is the ionic conductance method, obtaining immediate results in each therapy session. This technology, although is present in our country since more than 10 years ago, we don’t have the studies in our population. Objectives: Evaluate the Kt/V estimations concordance grade using single pool and ionic conductance methods, in a sample of patients with hemodialysis therapy at RTS Fundación Cardioinfantil. Materials and Methods: Analytical, transversal, observational study, which evaluates the Kt/V estimations concordance grade using single pool and ionic conductance methods in patients with CKD with hemodialysis therapy at RTS Fundación Cardioinfantil. Results: We found a low concordance for the Kt/V single pool and Kt/V diascan methods. Conclusions: is not advisable to use the dialysis dose ionic conductance method in the measure of Kt/V, for modifications of the clinical treatment and follow up in patients with hemodialysis, compared with single pool.
