Resumen
This work presents a data‐fusion mathematical object thatincorporates the optimism level of a decision‐makingagent. The new fusion object is constructed by extendingthe ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operator in theprocess of creating an experton. The main advantage ofthis approach is that it can represent the attitudinalcharacter of the decision maker in the construction of theexperton. Therefore, this approach represents a newmethod for addressing multiperson problems by usingoptimistic and pessimistic perspectives. The work presentsdifferent practical examples based on the absolutehierarchical relationships of the“minimum of the bottomend of the intervals,”“minimum of the top end of theintervals,”and“minimum size of the interval.”The workalso considers a wide range of particular cases of theOWA‐experton, including the minimum experton, themaximum experton, the average experton, and the olympicexperton. In addition, the study presents software for thecalculation of OWA‐expertons. Finally, the paper endswith an application in business decision‐making regardingthe calculation of expected benefits.
