Abstract
A description on the back of the postcard reads "The Silk Cotton tree Eriodendron anfractosum, commonly known in the East as Kapok, is one of the largest trees of Trinidad and Tobago. It often has huge buttresses to its trunk. The fibre surrounding the seeds is sued for stuffing cushions etc. The pods ripen and burst when the tree is bare of leaves as depicted."
