Fauna Terrestre del Archipiélago de Sabana-Camagüey, Cuba

Abstract

El presente libro recopila e integra la información disponible de la fauna del Archipiélago de Sabana-Camagüey, proporcionando las listas de especies actualizadas, con las fuentes de referencia, de varios grupos de la fauna terrestre, que incluyen nuevos registros por cayos para el territorio, para Cuba y la ciencia. Además, se brinda información acerca de la estructura de las comunidades faunísticas, así como sobre la distribución y abundancia de las especies por cayos y en las principales formaciones vegetales del archipiélago. A partir del cúmulo de información recopilada, se discuten aspectos relacionados con la biogeografía, uso del hábitat y el estado de conservación actual de la fauna terrestre dentro de este gran humedal. This book collects and integrates the information available from the fauna of the Sabana-Camagüey archipelago, providing updated lists of species, with the sources of reference, of several groups of terrestrial fauna, including new records to Cuba and science to the territory. In addition, provides information about the structure of animal communities, as well as the distribution and abundance of the species by keys and the major vegetation of the archipelago. From the information gathered, aspects related to the biogeography, use of habitat and the current status of the terrestrial fauna within this large wetland are discussed.
