Resumen
This study is based on 70 plankton samples collected with Bongo net during May and June of 1984, from north of Cedros Island to slightly south of Magdalena Bay, and 100 nautical miles offshore. Fifteen holoplanktonic gastropod species were identified. Their distribution pattern, characterized by the mixing of different water masses, is divided into seven zones, they are influenced by warm waters ofthe Central Pacific, equatorial waters; coastal upwellings, and a warm-tropical front was detected to the south. The predominant species offshore were Limacina inflata, in densities of up to 10 000/1000 m , and inshore, Atlanta peroni.
