Resumen
The Federal District, it is located SW of the lacustrine plain of the Cuenca of Mexico. This demarcation is surrounded of volcanic structures, to the north Sierra from Guadalupe is, to the west Sierra of Cruces, to the south Sierra of Chichinautzin and to the east Sierra of Santa Catarina and other smaller such elevations exist as the Peñón de los Baños, Peñón del Marques y el Cerro de la Estrella. Sierra of Santa Catarina (SSC), it is located to the east of Mexico City and it is constituted by a group of volcanic cones of the quaternary, occupying an approximate surface of 161.95 km2.
Two problems have motivated this work. First, the mountain when being practically inside the urban zone, the necessities of spaces have provoked that most of the same one is entered by urban developments. Second, this zone it is a focus of scarce investigation works, due to this, is considered by many like one of those of more risk in the Federal District.
In the last years it has been reported geologic diverse phenomena that have affected the population directly. Of these phenomena they will be defined work, the processes of mass removal (PRM) and cracking and their probable relationship presently. In this work, the classifications and the detonating factors were studied that influence in the gating of these phenomena with the purpose of developing maps of danger of the susceptible possible areas, this to characterize and to define areas of high risk.
