Resumen
The interest in investigating the issue of the participation of the teacher of physical education
in the development of the Strategic Plan of Transforming School (PETE), is due to discuss the
level of participation of the teachers of physical education in the PETE and the Annual Plan of
Work (PAT) in the school management in Basic Education.
The PETE comprises four dimensions: the pedagógica-curricular; the administrative; the
organizational and social and community participation. Some specific elements are: mission,
vision, diagnosis, ideals, goals, strategies, activities, resources and assessment.
The general objective was to analyse the level of participation that have been the teachers of
physical education in the development and implementation of the PETE in school
management in Basic Education for their daily work, which is why the work was developed
under a kind of descriptive study conducted between the months of April to September 2010.
The method of study consisted of a questionnaire open for interviews to teachers of physical
education of basic level; the sample comprised a total of fifty-three teachers of physical
education.
As result of the study found that:
Three of every five teachers relate the PETE with school improvement strategies
One of every three professors mentioned as a priority in his PAT, achieve the goals
and targets of the PETE
Element that uses less for its integration of PAT in the PETE diagnosis
Any Professor relates the PAT with the PETE on the mission and vision.
The study suggests, inter alia, the following observations and suggestions:
Focus to the Professor of physical education at a maximum of two schools,
corresponding to the number of hours work a week Raise teacher of physical education on the importance of their participation in the
PETE
Achieve physical educator have the basic skills required to develop his work, under
the guidance of the PETE and PAT
Incorporated in the training of teachers of physical education topics related to the
development of the PETE and the PAT.
