Resumen
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) has been characterized as a disorder of
gastrointestinal origin presenting nonspecific symptoms such as cramping pain,
abnormal bowel movements, with periods of diarrhea, constipation and bloating. Is a
functional disorder that presents changes in intestinal motility, and presented no
functional or structural changes, the diagnosis is based on the identification of
symptoms according to Rome criteria and exclusion of symptoms and signs. In
Mexico City this disorder occurs more in females 4:1 in relation to men, constituting
80% of the population. This study aimed to evaluate the analgesic effect general
points Zusanli (E36), Xiajuxu (E39), Shangjuxu (E37) with electrostimulation in the
treatment of ibs. For which we evaluated 60 patients with ibs who met the inclusion
criteria. Were divided into 3 groups randomly, group a=electroacupuncture, group
b=acupuncture and group c=control, each with 20 patients. Concluding that according
to the average of the scale of EVA determined in each group at the end of the 10
sessions, we found that in the group treated with electro stimulation the final values
were of 0.25 EVA equivalent to an improvement of 96.7%, while the simple
acupuncture group showed a vas of 2.75 showed an improvement of 71.4% and
finally the control group, the vas score was 6.1. Finally when comparing session 1 vs.
Session 10 of the three treatment regimens in the statistical package Sigma Stat,
statistically significant differences compared to the control with p <0.001 by the Holm-
Sidak test. Determining that 10 sessions with electro stimulation in this group of
mexican women reduce pain according the EVA scale.
