Resumen
The dynamic activity and growth of the National Oil industry demand to create a
greater infrastructure to satisfy its needs of operation, production, storage and
distribution of the oil, as well as its derivatives. Hence, with respect to the storage
and distribution of these products, in recent years it is had been requiring the
construction of new pipelines, also the repair or rehabilitation of other already
existing ones; reason for which this research is going to the study of the
mechanical behavior of the steel pipes submitted to different load cases.
Therefore, in this work of thesis the steel pipes with different thicknesses are
analyzed, taking into account the linear elastic behavior and nonlinear mechanical
models of the steel material, with the purpose to study the structural behavior
under combined actions such as, internal pressure, external pressure, axial effort
and bending. Theoretical models of the shells and numerical models based in the
finite element method (FEM) were used for the elastic analysis and collapse of
these pipes. The numerical models are generated with of program Ansys. The
numerical models include real geometries of typical pipes used in the oil industry
and the laws of behavior of the material.
Finally, the numerical approaches of the models are compared with the theoretical
results and experimental dates show a good agree between them.
