Resumen
The so dreamed democratization in to educational institutions encompasses much more than access to education, because it is understood that its implementation requires the participation of society in order to actually build democratic management, through mechanisms that allow access to the taken decision making. Advances can be seen in this journey, however, there are still aspects to be improved, deepened and understood around the theme, with the intent of enlarge spaces for dialogue and consolidation of efforts in the incessant search for an effective democratic management in schools, where those involved understand their complexity and the importance of each in this process. Therefore, the present work addresses the democratic management in its daily practice, limits and possibilities in the Municipal School of Basic Education Professora Marina Vargas, thematic one which aims to highlight the importance of school management from a democratic perspective for a quality education. This study was carried out through descriptive research of a qualitative approach, analyzing the possibilities of implementing mechanisms that make the process of democratization feasible in a teaching institution. The management team, as well as teachers, students and employees of the school in question, collaborated through interviews and questionnaires specifically directed to each segment, thus enabling an analysis of the progress, feasibility, difficulties and perspectives of the implementation of effective democratic management. It is understood that the search for excellence in education is the right of every citizen and duty not only of educational institutions, but of the school community when it appropriates the mechanisms and consciously fights for this right by exercising its citizenship in a participatory, critical and consistent manner.
