Objective: To analyze the characteristics of Family Health professionals in violence against
elderly´ report. Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed using data collected through
a semi-structured questionnaire from a census of workers from the Santa Maria family health
strategies (ESF). The outcome was the prevalence of violence against elderly´ reportand the
predictors were gender, age,legislation knowledge, ESF length of service, care of the elderly
victim of violence and to have knowledge of the existence of a flow of care to the elderly
victim of violence in the municipality. Results: the prevalence of violence cases report was
33.6%. Through a hierarchical analysis grouping the variables in Demographic and Work
Process dimensions, the highest prevalence was observed among workers who reported
working for more than 10 years in ESF (PR = 9.18, 95% CI (1.42-59, 12) and to have already
an elderly victim of violence (PR = 10.87; 95% CI 2.75-43.0). Conclusion: regardless of
demographic factors, the work process characteristics were important for the care.
