Resumen
Use of Tifton 85 bermudagrass has increased in pasture-based dairy sistems in tropical and subtropical regions and have typically depended upon N fertilizer. When mixed with grasses, legumes increase the overall value and quality of pasture, and could reduce the nitrogen fertilizer. Research of Bermudagrass production in systems in association of tropical legume has been limited. The study was conducted to evaluate the pasture characteristics and animal responses with three grazing systems: (1) Tifton 85 +150 kg N ha-1; (2) Tifton 85 +200 kg N ha-1; (3) Tifton 85 +100 kg N ha-1 + pinto peanut. The experimente was carried out from April 2017 to May 2018. The experimental design was completely randomized with three treatments (grazing systems) and three replicates (paddocks). Forage accumulation and stocking rate were 20.7; 25.1 and 19.9 t DM ha-1 yr-1 and 6.2; 8.0 e 6.1 AU ha-1d-1. The crude protein concentration were 142; 160 and 151 g kg-1 DM. Pasture fertilized with 100 ha-1 yr-1 mixed to pinto peanut is equivalent to 150 kg ha-1 yr-1 in pasture and animal responses. Better results were found with Tifton 85 + 200 ha-1 yr-1 and in the mixed pasture.
