Resumen
The aim of this research was to verify the oral motor-sensorial conditions and the feeding acceptance to the oral way release in intermediate care unity interned preterm neonates (PN). The sample was built by 32 PN which were subjected to nonnutritive (NNS) and nutritive sucking (NS) evaluation, in concern to the aspects of existence of oral reflexes (seeking, sucking and swallowing); sucking strength, rhythm and coordination; and oral gastric probe (OGP) feeding transition follow up to the full oral way. The collection of data happened in the period of May to September of 2005; the obtained data were tabulated and analyzed through the software STATA, version 5.0. Starting from the results it is ended that the oral way release took place when the PN presented an average of 34.84 weeks, and an average weight of 1864.06g. The sucking strength was intense, the rhythm was fast and the sucking, swallowing and breathing (S/S/B) coordination was appropriated. The oral reflexes were identified in 62.5 of the PN. In the first oral way the average feeding competence was 4.23ml/min, and the transfer tax was 48.08. Related to the feeding competence, it was verified that the prime most relevant variant was the sucking strength, followed by the current oral reflexes, sucking rhythm and, finally, the suitable coordination. Furthermore, it was checked a better transfer tax in PN with a fast rhythm, followed by the ones with a concomitant existence of the three oral reflexes.
