Resumen
Since the beginning of the 21ˢᵗ century, it can be noticed the release of TV drama series which include anti-heroes as the protagonists. Empathetic characters with immoral behavior at the same time are the features of these programs, and Breaking Bad is one of them. Vince Gilligan’s TV series aired in the United States from 2008 to 2013, and introduced Walter White as the main character. Since the protagonist of this TV series changes, and from an ordinary man he becomes a criminal, it was analysed by the screenwriting and film theories, how Walter White was created. The main categories observed on him were temporality, narrator and character’s point of view, conflict and empathy. It was shown that the character changes through his choices under pressure. It was also seen that through the positive qualities of the protagonist and the conflicts that he has to face, he remains as the empathetic character he used to be until the end of the series.
