This study applies the 10 Heuristics of Nielsen (1990) in the language platform Duolingo and presents
the level of user satisfaction to justify the usability of this Virtual Learning Environment. It is
understood as Virtual Learning Environment, a platform that provides the interactivity between people
and objects with pedagogical objectives, and the evaluation done here, turns to its interface. The
Duolingo Teaching Platform has two modules, one for students without a teacher's follow-up, in a
collaborative and self-taught way, and a specific one for schools, where teachers can accompany their
class. As a result of the heuristic and satisfaction evaluation, we have a positive picture of this
platform, with few suggestions for changes, where most usability criteria meet a good level of
satisfaction.
