A gestão democrática e a formação continuada dos professores do ensino fundamental: um estudo de caso em uma escola pública no município de Santana do Livramento

This work deals with the democratic management and the continued formation of teachers, with the objective is
to analyze the extent to which the school's management team provides continued formation for primary school
teachers in a public school. We looked for an answer to the following problem: How can management contribute
to the continued formation of teachers in a public school in Santana do Livramento? Therefore, a field
investigation was carried out, with a qualitative approach, of the case study type, in a State High School in the
department of Santana do Livramento / RS. The information was collected by conducting interviews with
teachers and school management team: four (4) teachers, One (1) pedagogical coordinator, One Manager (1).
Through the analysis of the interviews, it was observed that there is consensus among all the interviewees about
the importance of democratic management as a space for the promotion of continued formation, involving
everyone in the quest to improve the quality of education. However, some difficulties were detected to make
effective this participation, related to the teacher's workload, the working days in more than one school, the few
resources available to hire panelists or even offer offices and courses by school managers, demotivation of some
of them to participate in the actions taken by the schools. The results still point to the need for the school to
promote more effective mechanisms to mobilize teachers in the participation creating spaces where the
continued formation is propitiated, without the management ceases to be democratic.
