Gerenciamento de estoques: aplicação do modelo de lote econômico de compra em uma empresa do setor metal mecânico

Abstract

In a scenario within tough market competitors such as the nowadays, the companies must to explore the maximum of their competitive advantages in order to keep in the market. Thereby, a great inventory management is needed, because an excessive hoarding without control leads to high costs. However, the lack of raw material also may result in expenses, because the production does not meet the demand. Therefore, this article addresses the theme of Economic Order Quantity, which sought to research in articles and bibliographies related with the issue to create a EOQ model able to meet the necessities of a metal-mechanic industry located in the city of Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The project objective was estimate economic order quantity to hydraulic cylinder parts and compare the total costs of storage. This article was applied, exploratory, quantitative research and classificated as a case study. Thus, satisfactory results were found towards the company analyzed.
