Teacher education through distance mode has gained increasing prominence
due to the educational changes with the advances in information technologies.
Therefore, it is necessary to reflect on the impacts of online teacher education on
school management. To do that, this research aims to trace the distance education
path, from its beginning to the present time as well as analyze the graduates’
experiences in the Distance Education Management Specialization Course of
UFSM/UAB. This study is based on an exploratory, qualitative approach, using the
procedure of literature review. The proposed discussions and accounts indicated that
the graduates have a positive perception of their experiences in the course, as they
have developed a critical awareness of the manager’s role and management, with
the possibility of improvement and meaningful changes in their practices and in the
school management.
