Resumen
This study has as general objective to understand the democratic management implementation process in a school located in Santa Maria. This qualitative research is a community case study (TRIVIÑOS, 1994), in which three people have been interviewed based on a questionnaire, listing open-ended questions. This research is based on Victor Paro (2017 and 2016), Heloisa Lück (2000), Chiavenato (2010), and, Libâneo (2012). As results, the analysis on the democratic management implementation process has showed that putting that into practice has been a challenge because this process is still something to be thoroughly achieved. There is a prospect of no longer being in management system, but it is certain that the democratic management transformations have not practically been assimilated it yet. The school administration bases have been questioned and put in suspicion; however, their political-pedagogical consequences persist. There is a discourse change, but little of it has reached the practice yet. Therefore, it is concluded that school democratic management occurs through the community participation, and it is related to the sharing power in decisions making, independent of the functions the people involved carry out. In order to do so, it is necessary to overcome local and legal problems, as well as to promote concrete joint actions that strengthens teaching-learning process and autonomy. This study, thus, launches itself as a way to construct an educational project based on the collective work of constant reflection. A paradigm shift is fundamental in the school context in order to the democratic management model becomes effective in a creative and emancipatory culture.
