The main objective of the study was to evaluate the disposal of solid waste resulting from construction activities in companies operating in the campus Camobi, the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM) regarding the collection and recycling of waste, the last three years . Among the specific objectives to verify the procedures that companies adopt in relation to debris, either on disposal or reuse by identifying where they are intended or are reused within the institution. The research used the qualitative method by interviewing the technician of each company. The interviews were applied to 10 companies providing construction services to the UFSM, from September to October 2015. The study results showed that most companies analyzed performs the appropriate destination: reusing the waste in the work itself, making donations scraps of wood for needy families (firewood) and sending debris to waste recycling plant where the fate of these is reused in landfills.
