The workplace incivility is understood as a rough and impolite behavior with no clear intentionality of damage. This behavior has become a common occurrence in the workplace and is considered a type of daily annoyance or chronic stressor for individuals (ANDERSON; PEARSON, 1999). Studies on labor incivility in North America reveal a high rate of occurrence of this phenomenon (SCHILPZAND, et al., 2014); however, weren‟t found no Brazilian studies that verify the indices of incivility at work. Thus, the objective of this study was to carry out the transcultural adaptation of the workplace incivility scale and its validation in the Brazilian context. For that, an exploratory-descriptive research, of qualitative and quantitative character, was carried out. With regard to the research strategy, a Survey was performed. It began with the stages of translation, synthesis, retranslation, analysis of the committee of specialists and pre-test of the workplace incivility scale. The psychometric properties of the scale were then verified. This stage of the study consisted in the application of the survey to 913 employees of an organization at the outsourced services sector. The data obtained were analyzed with the support of the R Studio software, using statistics from CTT (Classical Test Theory) and IRT (Item Response Theory). The main results allowed the validation of the workplace incivility scale, demonstrating a good discrimination and quality of the items and showing the stability of the instrument. Regarding the uncivil behaviors suffered by the sample studied, the data obtained in this analysis indicated that the general average of incivility at work was 1.78, which shows a low occurrence of the attitudes evaluated. However, even if the occurrence is low, it is important that the organization pay attention to the behaviors presented, since they can open space for other forms of incivility, just as they can leave gaps for the manifestation of other types of violence in the work environment. It is understood, therefore, that the study contributed to broaden the considerations about the incivility in the workplace, addressing a theme often ignored, but that is present in the organizational daily. It is also believed that the main contribution of the study was to carry out the cross-cultural adaptation and the validation of a pioneer scale in assessing the uncivil behaviors in the work environment. In the same way, this instrument allows an advance in the studies made in Brazil, that can use a scale that provides a reliable evaluation of the construct.
