This research investigates how the process of school management (administrative, pedagogical and financial) in a school of early childhood education in the municipality of Santa Maria. Unfolds as overall objective: understand which are the relations of the public policies of early childhood education with the school management (administrative, financial and pedagogical).Set as specific objectives: understanding through theoretical evolution of the concept of childhood and the emergence of institutions of child education in Brazil; Find out the documents relating to public policies of early childhood education and teacher training; Understand how public educational policies for early childhood education influence on school management of a municipal school of early childhood education.The methodology uses a qualitative approach of case study type, as an instrument of data collection the questionnaire opened with teachers in the role of Manager and teachers in teaching exercise. For the analysis of collected data and categories of investigation, adopts the analysis of content. The theoretical referential converses with the assumptions of authors like Ariés (1973), Kuhlmann (2001; 2003; 2011), Kramer (1987), Libâneo (2004), Luck (2000; 2009a, 2009b) and among others who contributed to this reflection. Data analysis enables to understand that public policies for early childhood education directly influence on school management, both in the administrative aspect, as in the pedagogical and financial, because one exists as a function of another. Notes that public educational policies are designed to be implemented in school, because the success of these educational policies will depend on the way in which managers to put in action. In this way, the laws appear to give legal guarantees to comply with the determinations, but his legitimacy will depend on a series of factors, among them, the physical structure, the financier and the actions of educational agents.
