O Programa Mais Educação e a aprendizagem dos alunos: desafios para os gestores escolares

The present work aims to investigate the relationship of the “Mais Educação” Program with the student’s learning and the challenges faced by managers, in the current context, to organize the pedagogical proposal to integrate the cultural and socioeconomic diversity existent in the school, targeting a quality education. The focus of the research is describing the “Mais Educação” Program, relate it to learning and associate it with students’ permanency in the school. In order to carry on this work, a qualitative study was developed and it included in its methodology a documentary research to know the program and the school as well as the application of a questionnaire to the director, to the educational coordinator and to the teachers from the first to the ninth grade in a municipal public school in Agudo. The results show that, despite the fact that there is a relationship between the “Mais Educação” Program to students' learning through the activities developed, this is not the main reason why the students stay in school. Thus, according to the managers and to the teachers' testimony, there are other reasons responsible by the permanence of the students in the school. In addition, at the end of this paper, the managers can find some suggestions of how promoting strategies to improve the relationship between the “Mais Educação” Program with the students’ learning and their permanence in the school.
