The hemoglobinophaties are the main and more frequent genetic disease that affect humans, being the sickle cell disease very relevant in the context of public health in Brazil. Aspects related to public health are extrated from reality experienced by patients with sickle cell disease. Thus, the aim of the study was to analyze the role of manager in primary health care of sickle cell disease and ensuring in the treatment compliance. This rewiew article was performed in diferente electronic databases from May 2004 to May 2014. The manager should direct their activities and the public service to the effectiveness of good comum, impartiality, neutrality, transparency, participation and approach of public services to population with effectiveness, cutting red tape and pursuit for quality.
