This research had as its theme: "The Manager profile as an essential tool for change." The development of this study was because, currently, the search for quality of education in schools is intense and it is assumed that the main strategy for improving that quality is in school management. Therefore, he wondered: What the managers' leadership profile in two schools, a primary school of the Municipal Network and one of the State Network Ibarama / RS? The overall objective of this research was to identify the profile of the school manager in two schools in the city of Ibarama / RS, trying to understand the path to success (or not) the school management in the municipality. The methodology used was a field research with qualitative character. Data were collected through questionnaires, with semi-structured questions, with the subject two managers a municipal network and one of the state, both in the municipality of Ibarama / RS. Data from questionnaires were analyzed using content analysis (OLIVEIRA, 2003). From the analysis of responses, we can define the profiles of the participating managers as participatory and delegator. Furthermore, it is believed that they are suitable because it realizes that schools are being targeted as well. That's because the managers who work there know articulate, encourage and mobilize the school community to participate in all school sectors, such as teaching, administrative and financial, thus sharing decision-making and responsibilities. So we can understand that these managers are on the right path, seeking an effective school where dialogue should be prioritized, open and permanent.
