Nowadays, it is to increase people's concern with the quality of life, manifested
by uncertainty regarding the quality of food they eat diariamente.Hoje presents
intrinsic relationship between agriculture and consumer health. The growing concern
for the environment and the food quality has motivated the research on organic food
production in the city of Cachoeira do Sul - RS.O objective of this study was to
identify and analyze the ecological production of food in the city of Cachoeira do Sul -
RS, aiming suggest the accreditation of these foods on the market. A descriptive
exploratory survey was conducted in five rural properties Cachoeira do Sul - RS,
performing a case study with the use of questionnaire and interview aiming
information on the production, marketing, and benefits of agroecological farming.
Data analysis was performed quali - quantitaiva shape and principles as we evaluate
the benefits of this practice of planting . Finally , there was the main obstacle to
certification of products. Searched for information on Public Bodies and Municipal
Secretariats consulting official documents , sites and interviewing their leaders .
Subsequently , flyers were distributed to producers who had relevant information the
importance of the product certification process in order to encourage them to regulate
their production , thus aiming to provide information about the benefits and
importance of a brand for products and also the assurance seal producer orgânico.
Constatou is , however , that organic farming developed in this municipality is
incipient , particularly when we observe the production , which is limited to the
cultivation of vegetables and legumes . Genuinely organic foods contain lower levels
, or simply do not have pesticide residues compared to conventional foods . The data
suggest that consumers who seek to reduce their exposure to pesticide residues ,
may opt for purchasing organic foods.
