Resumen
This study aims to understand the organization of school management from the implementation of the constitutional principle of democratic management in education. This is a study of literature and qualitative data collection with directors of five public schools; reading and understanding of different contexts of public schools, endorsing assumptions historically constructed by the students' representative bodies. This happens in the pursuit of implementation of the new form of management, with new paradigms dictated from the federal constitution of 1988, which brought innovation in education, incorporating the democratic management of public schools, transcending the vertical and authoritarian practices. This principle is also documented in the Law of Guidelines and Bases of Education 9394/96, which regulates the new management model implemented towards the construction of participative management and collective in search of autonomy. From the relationship between social context and the implementation of democratic management in education, we realize that changes were being made and with the intuited the search for an improvement in the quality of Brazilian education.
