When referring to museums it‟s necessary to have the notion that this space, although being pedagogical and educational, is not characterized as an area of formal education. In a non-formal manner, it teaches, offers reflections, sets up identities, creates senses of belonging in the community and, in the twenty-first century, is a place of questioning and dialogue about the global and local world things. Such dialogue and interaction become possible and potentiated through a pedagogical action, produced by the museum, which derives from the institution management plan, which permeated by the other actions and practices developed by the museum, establishes relations between the public and the objects of its exhibits, whether they are long-term, temporary or itinerant. Thus, this study has as its theme, the issue of the educational action as a space for dialogue between the public and the museum. It aims to propose a project document, in the educational scope, to guide the actions of The Olivio Otto Museum-Carazinho/RS, for the year of 2011, at the moment that the institution seeks to consolidate its new conception with the local community, regional and related institutions.
