Resumen
The present work of the Educational Management Course is the result of a research
carried out in three public schools of the Municipal network of Santa Maria, RS.
Currently, the development of digital literacy appears as necessary in educational
contexts, because
we entered the digital age. Managers play an important role in the inclusion of digital
literacy in schools, as it can also from them the viability to use digital technologies in the classroom by teachers. For this, the general objective of the study was to
determine whether managers (in) enable working with digital literacy in basic
education, which is accompanied by the following specific objectives: study the digital
literacy in the school context; investigate how school managers (in) enable the
inclusion of digital literacy in the school context; analyze the demands caused the
school managers for digital literacy in the school context. This research is
characterized as a qualitative descriptive research. For data collection was used as
an instrument the application of questionnaires to managers of public schools in the
municipality of Santa Maria, RS. The research data were analyzed according to the
technique of content analysis proposed by Bardin (2016). These reflections start from
the theories of Bonilla and Pretto (2011), Buckinghan (2010), Gabriel (2013), Mota
(2014), Paro (1997), Nusbaum (2015) and Gomez (2015). The conclusion is that not
always the school with better conditions, which has the best computer lab is the one
that will provide the inclusion of digital literacy, therefore, depends on the will and
viability of all, as well as gestating on public policy for education by public managers.
