Prática fisioterapêutica no pós-operatório de cirurgia cardíaca: revisão de literatura (revisão)

Abstract

The aim of review was to evaluate reports of original scientific articles involving physiotherapy in post-cardiac surgery and to establish a parallel comparison with the protocol adopted at Hospital de Caridade Dr. Astrogildo de Azevedo (HCAA) in Santa Maria, Brazil. We have analyzed scientific papers published in Portuguese and English between 2006 and 2012 by adopting the following descriptors in both languages: cardiac surgery, physiotherapy, phase 1, postoperative rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation, physical therapy and all the combinations. The corpus was got from the databases PubMed / Medline, BIREME, SciELO Brazil, LILACS. We have selected 14 studies from which 43% used incentive spirometry; 57%, breathing exercises; 36%, deambulation; 50%, physical therapy; 21%, IPPB; 21%, NIV (BiPAP); 29%, EPAP; 14% TENS; and 7%, respiratory muscle training. The several rehabilitation programs that have been compelled in this study may serve to support and endorse possible changes in the protocol adopted at HCAA.
