In this context, it prioritized the development of the case report of an outbreak of contagious ecthyma in sheep, for being a little known disease as zoonosis between producers. This outbreak occurred in a flock of sheep in the region of Julio Castilhos / RS, on which the procedures performed to treat the infection and the results were discussed. The herd consisted of fifty-six animals where it was noted submandibular swelling of the lips and nostrils, accompanied by blisters and scabs, as well as lesions in coronary and interdigital regions of the hulls. And some animals showed infection ceilings. The results obtained in the laboratory showed that the samples of the crusts were positive for cytopathic effect compatible with contagious ecthyma virus. Treatment of the lesions was performed with parenteral antibiotic and a 50% solution of digliconato chlorhexidine and iodine degerming to 10% in the damaged regions. Vaccination was performed in all animals from the herd. There was marked improvement of clinical signs and lesions that affected the herd. There were no cases of death in the herd due to the infection of contagious ecthyma.
