Resumen
This work is result of residents' experience of the Multidisciplinary Residency
Program in Health in the Care in Line (CL) for People Living with HIV/Aids (PLHA) in the
University Hospital of Santa Maria (HUSM). The study reports the inclusion of residents in a
Working Group titled "We Need to Talk about Aids" of the HUSM and the actions taken by
the group in Santa Maria-RS, as well as reporting how the group contributed to the discussion
of the CL for PLHA of the county. The actions were motivated by the alarming result that the
city obtained in 2014 Epidemiological Bulletin with the 10th place in cases of aids in the
ranking of cities with over 100,000 inhabitants in Brazil. The study is part of an extension
project, the intervention methodology being used. The interventions realized by the Working
Group considered most relevant were reported in this work, those interventions were based in
health education activities on the topic HIV/aids with the available of rapid HIV tests and/or
distribution of condoms. Relative to the CL for PLHA in the county, it was possible to do an
analysis of the current situation of the municipality wich shows that there isn't a definite flow
of these users by the Health Care Network, nor a Specialized Service in HIV/Aids, focusing
greater demand in HUSM and hindering the care integrality of PLHA in the county.
