dc.description.abstractThe present study describes the articles published in the databases of the Virtual Health Library, Lilacs, SciELO and Bdenf that address the use of media resources in distance education in nursing in Brazil, between 2011 and 2013. How methodological approach, we adopted a narrative review of the literature the following steps: identification of the topic and research question to conduct the review; establishment of criteria for inclusion and exclusion of articles; definition of the necessary information; evaluation of full texts; and interpretation of results and the conclusion. As results were found 16 publications which are divided into the following categories: Development of disciplines in Virtual Learning Environments, software, and hypermedia sites, chats and forums and teleconferences and web conferences. We conclude that distance education is growing in Brazil, as well as the production of media resources developed and used for teaching purposes in undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing education in nursing, which becomes very important trace methodological path to be followed when developing a media resource for educational purposes.
