By the evolution of technological resources, it is increasingly necessary to develop new pedagogical tools, which provide the teacher with indispensable resources for teaching practice and for the construction of knowledge both in and outside the classroom. In an attempt to verify the applicability of gamification as a pedagogical resource, this research as action research was developed, with qualitative and quantitative approaches, that analyzed the use of the Minecraft game as didactic material for the teaching of geometry, specifically in area measurements And perimeter. During this research the social network Facebook was used as an auxiliary tool in the communication between the research participants and the teacher through a closed group created for this purpose. The basis of the research was through the reading of bibliographies that contemplated the theme Gamification. From the analysis of data collected in the questionnaires and the observation log, it was verified the importance of the adequate elaboration of the activities in order to motivate the students and to keep them interested during the whole period of development of the activities.
