A visão dos sujeitos internados em uma unidade de oncologia sobre o tratamento da dor e o cuidado ofertado por familiares e/ou cuidadores

Abstract

The present work resulted from the experience of two years of work in a Multiprofessional Residency Program in the Public Health System with emphasis on Hemato-Oncology of a University Hospital. This is an exploratory research, in the descriptive field and with a qualitative approach, aiming to understand how the treatment of pain occurs in the context of oncology and what support the relatives and / or caregivers offer in the care of pain from the point of view view of subjects admitted to an oncology unit. The study was carried out from September to November 2018 and eight subjects aged 55 to 75 years, who were in treatment and fit the inclusion criteria, participated. Was used as instrument a semi-structured interview with 29 guiding questions. The information obtained was transcribed in its entirety and analyzed in the narrative analysis modality. The results revealed that all respondents felt and / or suffered during the treatment period and, in the meantime, the evaluation was made to control the pain of people who suffered attacks. To medications and actions to control symptoms. The family and / or caregivers are important supportive support during diagnosis and treatment, the care performed by the nursing staff are pointed out as an important form of care. The research offers subsidies so that care strategies are directed at the possibility of an integral and continuous care, focusing on a humanized assistance that meets the real needs of the subject.
