Resumen
Storytelling is an essential tool in early childhood education. Among other reasons, stories displayed in
classroom have the power to delight young children. They present scenarios, characters and
narratives that take the attention of these children. Thus, the insertion of media during storytelling
seeks to make this activity more attractive, aiming to approach in the classroom artifacts of the daily
life of these children. In this context, the objective of this work is to investigate the understanding of the
involvement of children in early childhood education during the insertion of sound, print and
audiovisual medias at the time of the storytelling "The Three Little Pigs". These media were planned in
separate classes, where the way they influenced the development process of young children was
observed. The subjects of this research were the students of a nursery class level II, made of nine
students aged of two and three years-old, of a municipal children’s education school in Cachoeira do
Sul-RS. From the work carried out, it was verified how important is the insertion of the media in the
storytelling, as well as the influences in the development of the children's learning and their
contributions to the everyday life of the classroom.
