This work analyses the relevance of education for children and teenagers development, focusing on socio-educational activities (ampliated journey) applied by the public policy Child Labor Eradication Program, with bibliographic and documental research as methodology of work. It aimes to reveal, without ending discussion about the subject, education‟s part in citizenship development as in the feeling of social belonging. Different metatheoretical conceptions and theories about children and teenagers‟ development and learning process are addressed, in order to think about the repercussion of pedagogical practice in a citizen education, representing this concept an opinion leader individual. The research showed the Child Labor Eradication Program‟s contribution to children and teenagers‟ citizenship education, through social-educational activities applied in school‟s inverse period, since the educational process of those pedagogical actions focused the total development of the human being, working with playful and relational activities, and assigning importance to team work. Therefore, it‟s extremely relevant that the public manager invests in public policies with social‟s interests as a way to efficiently overcome Brazil‟s social inequality and, in consequence, achieve Brazilians‟ wellbeing.
