Resumen
Excluding the ration, the most consumed input in the production of poultry
chain is electricity, consuming energy in most of its phases. There are several factors
that contribute efficiently to a reduction in electricity consumption. One of them is the
improvement of lighting systems, performing the replacement of incandescent bulbs,
which have low efficiency and short shelf life, compact lamps or even led type.
Another important factor, in poultry, is to have a temperature monitoring
system to ensure the thermal comfort of the birds as they climatic variations are very
sensitive. There are several cases where the lack of air conditioning due to
interruption in the supply of electricity, causes the death of thousands of chickens. In
addition to this factor, engines are used to supply food and water pumping. All
contributing to a high energy consumption. Therefore, this project studied the
consumption of electricity in an aviary of Marau region - RS, performing an analysis
of the possible measures that can be taken to improve the thermal comfort of the
birds and make the most efficient facilities in relation to energy consumption electric.
