Resumen
This article explores on the imagined identity that the Museo del Caribe communicates and whether or not it contributes to the construction of citizenship. Presented as the first regional museum in Colombia, the paper examines whether the proposed cultural identity based on diversity, corresponds to a multicultural citizenship or, conversely, using the languages of seduction provided by new technologies, serves to the construction of an imaginary of the Caribbean culture associated with ethnic fashions. Based on the reconstruction of the museum's narrative syntax, on the analysis of surveys made to visitors, and on the role given to the city in the geographic-cultural space of the Caribbean, the paper develops its approach on the notion of citizenship that the museum fosters.
