Over the last 40 years, father involvement, broadly defined, among resident and nonresident
fathers has increased as women's labor force par-ticipation increased and men's roles in the
home shifted from being the sole breadwinner to include sharing daily care of the child with
the mother (Bianchi, 2000; Cabrera, 2010). Consequently, more men today than in recent
