El rescate del oficio de la pesca artesanal como ocupación colectiva y su relevancia en la localidad de Caleta Tumbes

Abstract

Esta investigación pretende ilustrar el concepto de Ocupación Colectiva (OC) a partir del estudio de caso de pescadores artesanales de caleta Tumbes. El cual se orienta a analizar las formas de lucha y organización que conservan los pescadores de esta localidad, para la mantención de este oficio entendido como una OC, frente a los efectos que ha tenido la nueva ley de pesca en el ejercicio de la misma, lacerando el sentido de comunidad e identidad ocupacional de los pescadores. Por esto, se evidencia si existen maneras por parte de la comunidad para combatir la fractura del sentido de colectividad asociado al malestar psicosocial y debilitamiento del tejido social. En esta investigación, no se identifica una lucha colectiva como tal, pero exhibe una lucha individual que se refleja en la persistencia del pescador por continuar ejerciendo su oficio, a pesar del escenario social que vivencia el sector artesanal en la actualidad, siendo esta su mayor forma de liberación frente a las fuerzas opresoras que restringe el hacer cotidiano del pescador artesanal. El presente estudio abre paso a nuevas investigaciones como: la influencia de la conciencia ocupacional en el ejercicio de la pesca artesanal, la pesca artesanal vista desde una perspectiva de género, una exploración detallada de la nueva ley de pesca, que afecta actualmente al oficio de la pesca artesanal, para así dar cuenta de los posibles cambios y modificaciones que ayuden a mejorar las condiciones de trabajo de los protagonistas de esta investigación. Para el desarrollo de esta investigación se utilizó el método cualitativo, analizando la información obtenida desde un enfoque fenomenológico de carácter descriptivo y explicativo.

The objective of this research is to illustrate the Collective Occupation based on a study case of artisanal fishermen of Tumbes Cove. This research is oriented to analyze the forms of struggle or organization that the fishermen of this locality keep for the preservation of the artisan fishing trade in face of the effects that the new fishing law has had in the exercise of the same profession, and that has brought with it changes in the sense of community and occupational identity of fishermen. Because of this, it is observed that there are ways in the fisherman’s community to fight for the fracture of the sense of collectivity associated with psychosocial malaise and weakening of the society. In this research, a collective struggle is not identified, but it is observed an individual struggle that is reflected in the persistence of the fisherman to continue exercising his trade, despite the social situation that the artisan sector lives today, being this his greatest form of liberation in front of the oppressive forces that restrict the daily activities of the artisanal fisherman. This research opens the way to new investigations, such as the influence of occupational awareness in the exercise of artisanal fishing, artisanal fishing seen from a gender perspective, a detailed exploration of the new fishing law, which currently affects the trade of artisanal fisheries, in order to expose the possible changes and modifications that help to improve the working conditions of the protagonists of this investigation. For this work, a qualitative research methodology was used, analyzing the information obtained from a phenomenological approach of a descriptive and explanatory type.
